Deploying Agentic AI to Navigate Industrial Processes // Sebastian Kukla // AI in Production

The North America Digital Transformation team will upgrading SAP S/4 from SAP R/3 that I helped to implement all the way back in 2002. We will also be installing an end to end Supply Chain management system beginning with Sales Demand Planning all the way through Supply Planning and Order Promising into the plant with handovers directly in SAP S/4. To assist with this we are already using one AI Agent for training and accuracy for our Customer Service (CSRs) users and have another AI Agent for Sales and Finanacial analysis to assist in the SAP upgrade.

So many ERP system implementations fail because they are directed by the "software" folks rather than working side by side with the users. Throughout my career I have done most of the functions that interact with SAP. As the Director of Installation Services I closed one more gap in my experience with Payroll, CAPEX, additional Finance P&L experience (exposing gaps in how we handle sales of labor in our legacy SAP system) and some manufacturing of specialty pieces for our customers. Adding to my existing Sales, Commerical and Financial Management experience I saw the opportunity to be the champion for all my colleagues who are using our existing systems and being able to make their daily processes better and more efficient. These projects often hinge on Change Management. Understanding how these systems change existing jobs and having those users involved in the development of the new processes is what I am passionate about. This project allows me to expand on that and work more with our Operations Plants and through the implementation, better understand our production processes and people to drive our billion-dollar region forward.
