How to Avoid Suffering in Mlops/Data Engineering Role

I'm a software engineer with more than 10 years of experience. With background in bioinformatics, even started PhD but didn't finish it. As a data engineer I'm working for the last 6 or 7 years, or maybe more - cause I was doing almost the same data eng stuff but my position was named differently. Last 4-5 years also doing a LOT OF ml ops. Even don't know what I was doing more - data eng or mlops.
