Lucile Bonnin is an adept R&D professional with deep expertise in chemistry, predictive analytics, innovation strategy, and materials development. Currently serving as the Head of Research & Development at Cambrium, Lucile plays a pivotal role in re-imagining materials that matter using the molecular programmability of proteins. Rather than extracting it from nonrenewable resources, this next-generation materials company grows novel material building blocks through a precision fermentation process. Their first product, NovaCollTM launched in April 2023, is a highly active, micro-molecular region of collagen - perfectly suited for personal care applications.
Before Cambrium, Lucile was the Director of Innovation Strategy at iconmobile group. Here, she spearheaded innovation strategies for top-tier FMCG companies in the Beauty Care and Food & Beverage sectors. She specialized in introducing and implementing state-of-the-art digital tools, such as AI and predictive analytics in R&D departments.
At Henkel, Lucile cemented her reputation as an innovator in the cosmetic product development sector. As the R&D Manager for Predictive Analytics, she was responsible for the creation and leadership of Henkel's first chemometrics-based laboratory. Lucile's notable achievements include launching two globally awarded AI-driven cosmetic tools and co-authoring 12 patents.
Lucile holds a Ph.D. in Physical & Analytical Chemistry from The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg and a Master's degree in Chemistry from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
Beyond her professional and academic pursuits, Lucile is a committed volunteer in digital education, contributing her time to the ReDI School of Digital Integration in 2021.
